Besides this hobby that got out of hand (soakfairy) I have a core business with my husband that takes up most of my time.
I have HEDS, MCAS, POTS, ACNES & Neuralgia. I struggle with social isolation a lot due to daily chronic pain or even worse when I have flareups. During these periods I am not able to work as much or at extremes not at all.
In daily life I use mobility aids such as a cane, wheelchair, compression socks, silver splints and braces or tape.
I also make music that you can find on spotify under the name Ylisia (or my previous band Eve’s Fall), for me music is an outlet where I can channel all the things that are not so sweet in my life.
Feel free to ask me anything :)
As a mother myself I know small babies are hard work. Laundry is overwhelming enough as it is so handwashing your wraps can be something that gets easily forgotten or put at last on your to do list.

When starting Soakfairy my main idea was to give those special wraps and carriers their shine back and also make sure that small pulls don’t become big pulls or worse. This was my biggest nightmare when I started my babywearing yourney about a decade ago.
During this time I have come to know the babywearing community as a place where I was always accepted and where I made a lot of mama friends who helped me through times of solitude as well. For me, staying in touch with this community is a big part of why I love doing this work so much.
My main goal however, is to give you a warm and nice experience, and to keep all those golden oldies and shelvequeens in shape.
My vault of knowledge on how to wash, fix and remove stains from delicate fabrics is a niche I developed over the the course of decades and would not be something I could just teach someone in a couple of hours.

With a seamstress as mother and a father that was a highly skilled carpenter that had many hobbies such as upholstering furniture I think craftmanship runs through my vains and I gained a lot of knowledge on woven fabrics from an early age because my parents would always have projects on the living room table.
I have also worked in the field of pestcontrol for a couple of years where I took courses on critters and learned a lot of things I wish I never learnt as this unlocked a serious new fear when it comes to keeping my woolies & silks safe. However, till this day this knowledge still comes in handy a lot.
Besides just washing a lot of wraps (as I owned close to 500 wraps myself that I ALWAYS froze & washed before use) I also gained a lot of knowledge on delicate materials because this happened to be another one of my rabbit holes.
Some of you might remember me when I was working with bybauk (custom carriers) where I handled the customercare for a while.

I work from home and wash your items in my kitchen by hand.
I do have pets and kids but I exclusively work on your items when I have the space for myself and the pets do not come near my office where I dry your wraps.
I find this work very therapeutical, so I usually only do this when I am by myself with my headphones and a pot of coffee ☕️
